Mark your calendars from June 1st to June 30th, 2026, for the “Summer Moves” Regional Challenge in Northern Colorado! The “Summer Moves” Regional Challenge is a North Front Range regional challenge to improve air quality by encouraging commuters to skip solo drives and opt for sustainable transportation options such as transit, biking, walking, vanpooling, and carpooling. “Summer Moves” will coincide with the 2026 Bike Wherever Day on June 24th, 2026.

The “Summer Moves” Regional Challenge is a partnership among several communities in the North Front Range region, uniting both large and small communities to encourage residents and visitors to walk, bike, roll, carpool, vanpool, or ride transit, anything that gets people out of their cars. It doesn’t matter if you’re walking to the grocery store, heading to the office, meeting a friend at an event, or biking to the brewery on the weekend; any trip counts if you would normally drive your car.

There are several reasons to participate:

  • Challenge Yourself! – Set a goal to ride and walk more this summer.
  • Challenge Others! – Compete against your family, coworkers, friends, or the region to cover the most miles.
  • Win a Prize! – Participants will be eligible for various prizes after tracking at least five trips.
  • See the region in a new way! – Explore great trails, transit options, and paths to experience things you can’t see when driving.
  • Improve our air! – Each time you avoid driving, you help the region reduce transportation-related air quality issues.
  • Put money in your pocket! – Transit, biking, walking, carpooling, vanpooling, and rolling are affordable ways to get around, and you don’t have to pay for gas!
