Mobility Coordination
**The NFRMPO is making available an application package with which to request FTA funding assistance for Federal Fiscal Year 2010 Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Job Access/Reverse Commute (5316 - JARC) program funds. Approximately $102,344 will be available in 2010 for providers within the Fort Collins-Loveland-Berthoud Transportation Management Area (TMA). Further details about the JARC grant program are contained within the Notice of Funding Availability and the NFRMPO Grant Application Package. The deadline for submitting an application has closed.
Development of a coordinated public transit/human services transportation plan was mandated in the federal transportation legislation known as SAFETEA-LU. The legislation requires that "the plan be developed through a process that includes representatives of public, private, and nonprofit transportation and human services providers." This mandate was made to ensure greater access to transportation services for people with disabilities, older adults, and individuals with lower incomes.
The NFRMPO developed this plan for both Larimer and Weld counties so that a consistent and integrated approach was taken across the region. The planning process included setting goals, identifying outcomes, developing strategies, and building a family of transportation services. The process was the same in both counties and the two plans have been combined into a single document which can be viewed by clicking the link below.
Implementation of the Plan included hiring a Mobility Coordinator to assist agencies in their coordination efforts. Mary Warring, has worked on public outreach and intergovernmental relations for over eight years for the MPO. Mary is working to ensure that mobility coordination becomes a long term MPO strategy.
For any questions or comments related to the plan please e-mail Mary Warring at mwarring@nfrmpo.org or call 970-416-2023.
